Pladis is one of the world’s leading snacking companies. ​Home to the some of world’s most loved snacking brands, including McVitie’s, Ulker and GODIVA. The company has 34 factories in 13 countries and its products reach approximately 4 billion people worldwide in 120 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Americas. They embarked in a digital transformation journey with a new Intranet and integrated all their current tools under one single entry point to drive better engagement across the organisation. 

Challenge

Pladis were facing a challenge in digital communication, connection and culture:

    • Colleagues wanted more inter-regional connection and knowledge sharing – they wanted to know what was happening at pladis globally

    • Colleagues wanted to learn from their counterparts in other regions, but didn’t have access to enough opportunities to do this

    • Huge division and disconnection between desk-based colleagues and site colleagues

Cocentric were engaged as part of this wider digital workplace strategy to understand the current digital landscape and provide direction and solutions to solve the challenges.

With a clear, restructured channel strategy and roadmap, people working at pladis needed a central solution to bring their digital landscape together and provide easier pathways into knowledge, communications and applications.

Innovation

One Digital Workspace by Cocentric is an integrated intranet solution that enhances Microsoft SharePoint, providing an enhanced user experience and improved usability.

Accessible by desktop or mobile, Onepladis has been placed at the centre of the pladis’ digital workplace integrating with a wide range of the existing platforms and applications, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Delve, Microsoft Active Directory and Workplace from Meta

Onepladis surfaces personalised user content and adapts language based on user profiles. The centralised solution has generated efficiencies in the way that pladis employees work with increased collaboration and connection across the business Onepladis – One Digital Workspace features:

    • Workplace from Meta – Surfacing global and regionalised communications

    • Applications – Customisable access to global and regional tools and platforms

    • Calendar – Integration with Outlook to provide a quick calendar view

    • People – Search and refine to access to people’s profiles and contact details

    • Regionalised Business Knowledge – Content displayed is profile based

Impact

Onepladis was launch in 2021, providing easier pathways into knowledge, communications and applications to over 16,000 global employees anywhere, any time with frontline workers accessing Onepladis via kiosks in the factories.
